I was watching one of her latest videos for the song “Telephone” with Beyonce on iTunes, when, our of curiosity, I decided to google her past and her website. Who knew she played piano by the age of 4, began performing at open mic nights by age 14, and gained early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts? She’s gifted, creative, and bold—what’s not to like? I soon drifted over to her tour schedule…Sydney, Melbourne, Osaka, Stockholm, Hamburg, Berlin…wait, did I just read Berlin?...wait, did I just read Berlin on May 11th?…the same May 11th Caitlin and I are going to be there!!!!
It was too good to be true. I was going to be closer to one of her concerts while in Europe than I would be in the U.S.! The price of experiencing one of the best performing artists of our day in a foreign country: A mere 64 euro! Ok, so it’s not that cheap, but is it worth it? I say yes, and a quick text to Caitlin confirmed that she agreed. A few clicks of a button on the internet, and Gaga tickets were ours.
Now let’s just hope another volcano doesn’t erupt and delay our trip, we don’t miss our train from Amsterdam to Berlin, and we don’t get lost trying to find the concert in German (or abducted by strangers in our cab on the way there--see previous blog).
