To Hell and Back in Paris

In Paris. STOP. No, really, stopped in Paris for the past 18 hours. Won't be leaving for the next 12 hours. The flight yesterday was cancelled due to the volcano spewing ash yet again. Charles De Gaulle is officially the most frustrating airport on the face of the earth. Fortunately we met some other stranded souls trying to make it to Dublin including 4 nice older women from North Carolina trying to catch a tour in Dublin, one frustrated guy trying to meet up with friends in Dublin for a $20,000 golf trip, and a college girl from Michigan named Natalie who hung out with us for most of our frustrated treks back and forth in the airport.

We finally escaped the airport at about 4pm (we got to the Paris airport at 11:30) with a hotel voucher, checked into our hotel, and took the metro an hour into central Paris to see the Eiffel tower. While the Eiffel tower did not exactly make all of this frustration worth it, it defnitely brightened our pretty bleak day.

Now we are off to Notre Dame and wherever else our feet take us in Paris while we fill the time until our 6:45pm flight. Cross your fingers for us that the flight tonight actually does take off, and we finally arrive in Dublin by 7:45 tonight.

Our new friend, Natalie, made the early flight, but since our wasn't until 6pm, we headed to Notre Dame.

After Notre Dame, we had some breakfast, and headed to the Louvre.
